Fit Activities with Friends

“So are you ready for the 2nd?”

“Uh, ready for what?”

“You know. The Warrior Dash?”

“Aw, shit.”

Yup, I completely forgot that I registered for this year’s Warrior Dash shortly after running the one last year (clearly, my judgement was clouded by the adrenaline still pumping through my system). I’m sure I got a great deal on it … I just wish I hadn’t forgotten about it. So now I have about 15 days to get my ass back into running shape.

Warrior Dash memories

After my first Warrior Dash in 2024. I SURVIVED!

I remember when I did the Warrior Dash for the first time three years ago. Sure, I wasn’t a great runner, but who cared about that when there were going to be a dozen scary obstacles for me to conquer?! Including ropes and high walls (have I mentioned I hate heights?).

Luckily, I can now say that I’m not a bit scared of the obstacles. I’m so much stronger now that I’ve been CrossFitting for about 7 months, scaling a wall and army crawling under barbed wire doesn’t seem like a big deal.

With that said, I’m now turning my focus to the running portion. Ideally, I’d love to be able to practically sprint the first mile to get ahead of the pack (and therefore lessen my wait time at any of the obstacles), and not be totally out of juice to keep going the remaining 2.31 miles. So we’ll see how that goes, haha.

Final obstacle in 2025. Mud. So much mud.

Why I love being active with friends

Why I love being active with friends

One thing I must say is that I probably wouldn’t partake in this (and other fun, summer activities) if it wasn’t for my friends. I appreciate any opportunity to be active and social at the same time (although, I’ll probably never turn down the chance to sit on a patio with a Summer Shandy).

So what else keeps me active with my pals?
